The Year of the Chip (as we previously dubbed 2024, thanks to all of the wonderful products Frito-Lay is releasing this year) is in full swing. And Doritos has yet another surprise up their sleeve for us.
Doritos Flamin’ Hot Mystery Flavor hit Walmart shelves a few months ago, and ever since, fans have been scrambling to figure out what the mystery might be. Doritos tossed a post up on Reddit that featured a slew of different possible flavors, encouraging fans to vote on which they thought the mystery flavor might be. We tried the new Doritos for ourselves and guessed that the flavor was chicken curry. Well, the mystery flavor has been officially revealed. Were we right? Sorta!
And Doritos Flamin’ Hot Mystery Flavor Is…
Doritos revealed that the mystery flavor is Flamin’ Hot Thai Red Curry. So, we weren’t quite on the money, but we did nail the curry component. I went back to my bag of Flamin’ Hot Mystery Doritos and tried them once again with the official flavor in mind, and I can very much taste the Thai red curry now. You get the garlic, lime, shrimp paste, and coconut.
You may be saying to yourself, “Well, that’s great that I know what the Doritos mystery flavor is, but now I can’t go back and try them because they aren’t available at my local Walmart anymore!” Worry not, dear reader. Doritos announced alongside the Mystery Flavor reveal that Doritos Flamin’ Hot Thai Red Curry will return this fall with updated packaging featuring the name of the flavor!
